Terms of Service

legit is a Chrome extension and web service that provides real-time fact-checking of content as you browse the web. legit is operated by legit (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using legit you agree to these terms.

legit offers a Free tier (10 page scans per day, basic verdicts) and a Pro tier (unlimited scans, compose mode, full citations, real-time context, expert credits). Pro is billed monthly at $12/month or annually at $99/year. Pro includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; no charge is made until the trial ends.

You agree not to:

• Use legit to scrape, harvest, or bulk-process content from websites
• Abuse or attempt to circumvent rate limits
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any third party's rights
• Resell or redistribute access to the service without written permission

legit aims to provide accurate, source-backed fact-checking. However, no automated fact-checking system is infallible. Verdicts are provided for informational purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for consequential decisions. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy or completeness of any verdict.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, legit and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for any user who violates these terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of legit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes by email.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before resorting to formal dispute resolution.
