legit is built on the principle that your browsing activity is your business. This policy explains clearly and completely what data we collect, how we use it, and what we never do with it.

• Page text: The visible text of pages you're actively viewing is sent to our fact-checking pipeline for analysis. This is transient — it is processed and discarded, never stored.
• Email address: Used for authentication via Google OAuth. Stored in our Supabase database.
• Payment information: Processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Plan status: Whether you're on the Free or Pro plan, stored in our database to serve the right features.

• Your browsing history
• URLs of pages you visit
• Passwords or form inputs
• Personal data beyond your email
• Location data

Data is used solely to provide the legit fact-checking service. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or any other commercial purpose. Page text is processed in real time to generate fact-check verdicts and is never persisted.

legit uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — authentication and user database
• Stripe — payment processing
• AI inference providers — real-time fact-checking and source retrieval

Each service operates under its own privacy policy.

Account data is retained until you delete your account. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us. Transient page text is never stored.
